Vincent von Oertzen studied Mechanical Engineering at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, where he finished his Masters in 2019 with a thesis on the topic of Finite Element implementation of an Allen-Cahn-type Phase Field Model with application to phase-transformed ceramics. Afterwards, he started there his PhD under the supervision of Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Bjoern Kiefer at the Institute of Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics.
His research interests are homogenization of phase-field models for phase-transforming solids involving spatial and temporal scale separations and multi-scale modeling of phase transitions in iron-based shape memory alloys and ceramic-reinforced TRIP steels.
