Lennart Behlen studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kassel, where he received his Master’s degree in 2021 with a thesis on thermo- and electrodynamic aspects of piezoelectric fracture mechanics. After graduation, he became a doctoral researcher in the Engineering Mechanics / Continuum Mechanics group at the University of Kassel under the supervision of Prof. Andreas Ricoeur.

His research interests lie in continuum electromagnetism and fracture mechanics of dielectric solids, with his doctoral thesis focused on field singularities and the controversy surrounding the correct formulation of electrostatic forces and couples on the macroscopic scale.
