Kai Partmann studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen and the University of Siegen, earning his M.Sc. degree in 2021. During his studies, he participated in a dual study program, working as an engineer in the development and engineering department of an industrial company. Since 2021, Kai has been a Doctoral Student in the Group of Solid Mechanics at the University of Siegen under the supervision of Prof. Kerstin Weinberg.
His research explores nonlocal modeling techniques for dynamic fracture and large deformations, with a focus on peridynamics. He is also engaged in high-performance computing, particularly with the Julia programming language, and actively contributes to the open-source community by advancing computational tools and methods.
