Emil Løvbak is a postdoctoral researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. His current research focus is uncertainty quantification for kinetic equations, with specific topics of interest including particle-based Monte Carlo simulation, PDE constrained optimization, Bayesian inverse problems, pseudorandom number generation and nuclear fusion research.
Prior to his current position, he was located at the KU Leuven, where he also completed his PhD in Computer Science Engineering, funded by the Research foundation Flanders – FWO. Here, he also worked on a EUROfusion project on the development of simulation codes for neutral particles.
