Fall Meeting 2025

The GAMM Juniors Fall Meeting 2025 took place from October 6th to 8th at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). This year’s meeting was organized by Miguel Ángel Moreno-Mateos, who put together a rich and engaging program that balanced scientific exchange, organizational coordination, and community building for all participating Juniors.
Same procedure as every year!

In line with the tradition of the Fall Meeting, one of the central goals was to welcome the newly elected GAMM Juniors and to integrate them smoothly into the ongoing and upcoming organizational activities. With fresh motivation and equipped with many promising ideas, the group engaged in extensive discussions about the structure and responsibilities within the Juniors, reviewed ongoing initiatives, and set the stage for the upcoming year. A substantial portion of the meeting was dedicated to the initial planning phases for GAMM and SAMM 2026, including brainstorming sessions, task distribution, and the identification of new opportunities.

Beyond the organizational program, the meeting also featured three exciting scientific talks by Mischa Blaszczyk, Emil Løvbak, and Andreas Warkentin. Each of these talks highlighted different facets of the diverse research landscape represented within the GAMM Juniors community. Their contributions not only showcased the depth and breadth of the members’ scientific work but also sparked lively discussions and new ideas.

The meeting also offered several opportunities for informal interaction. A particular social highlight was the joint visit to the Botanical Garden in Erlangen on Tuesday evening. The serene atmosphere of the garden provided a perfect backdrop for relaxed conversations, allowing participants to get to know each other beyond the academic setting and to exchange ideas in a more informal environment.

On Wednesday, the Fall Meeting concluded with an inspiring session with Prof. Silvia Budday (FAU), whose insights and perspectives were highly appreciated by all participants. Following this final session, the group made its way to downtown Nuremberg, where the meeting ended with further discussions, laughter, and a shared sense of motivation for the year ahead.
We would like to thank all participants for their active engagement and contributions throughout the meeting-and especially Miguel Ángel Moreno-Mateos for his outstanding and thoughtful organization. We look forward to the coming year and to continuing our collaborative work within the GAMM Juniors, strengthened by new members, fresh ideas, and the momentum gained during this year’s Fall Meeting.
