From March 16th to 20th, 2026, the University of Stuttgart hosted the 96th GAMM Annual Meeting, which once again provided an excellent platform for us, the GAMM Juniors, to showcase our work through a wide range of activities. The program kicked off in the two weeks leading up to the conference as part of the Pre-GAMM. During a scientific onboarding phase, six talks prepared participants for the topics of the upcoming plenary lectures. Once on-site in Stuttgart, the soft skill seminar followed with the “How to Conference” workshop, offering valuable guidance for first-time attendees. Six panelists shared their personal experiences and answered a variety of questions from the audience.

A perennial highlight of the program was the YAMM Lunch on Tuesday, which facilitated direct and personal exchange between young researchers and established experts regarding both research and career paths. Additionally, we utilized the coffee breaks on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday for our poster sessions, providing space for intensive technical discussions and new networking opportunities. A new addition to the program was the GAMM Elevator Pitch, sponsored by Bosch, where many PhD students took the chance to present their research in an original way within a three-minute window. This event was also exceptionally well-attended.

On an organizational level, we were able to make significant contributions as well: alongside an exchange with the GAMM Executive Board on Wednesday afternoon, our speaker team was represented in the official board meetings to actively help shape future topics. Finally, Thursday evening was dedicated to the community, as we gathered for our traditional dinner with our alumnae and alumni.

This week in Stuttgart has once again demonstrated the importance of our projects’ visibility and the strong sense of cohesion within the GAMM Juniors. We would like to thank all participating speakers and the organizing team for this successful exchange and are already looking forward to the 2027 Annual Meeting in Ulm, for which planning is already underway.
