Siddhi Avinash Patil

Siddhi Avinash Patil is a PhD student at the Institute of Mechanics and Fluid Dynamics under the Professorship of Applied Mechanics – Solid Mechanics (Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Bjoern Kiefer) at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. She received her B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai (Don Bosco Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India) in 2020 and her M.Sc. in Computational Materials Science from TU Bergakademie Freiberg in 2024.

Her master’s thesis focused on developing a user-defined element (UEL) framework that combines coupled chemo-mechanics with the Gurson–Tvergaard–Needleman (GTN) damage model. Her research interests include coupled multi-physics and multi-field problems, with a particular emphasis on phase-field and damage modeling.

She is a member of the ESF Junior Research Group “AddWasserstoff”, which aims to develop sustainable, additively manufactured high-temperature materials for hydrogen applications.
