Merten Stender

Merten Stender is a mechanical engineer by training. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Hamburg University of Technology. Merten obtained his PhD in October 2020, and since January 2023 he is a professor at Technische Universität Berlin for the chair of Cyber-Physical Systems in Mechanical Engineering.

His research covers a broad range of topics in the field of complex nonlinear dynamics and scientific machine learning. The current research focus lies on hybrid techniques for integrating data-driven with physics-based models for digital twin applications.
