Katrin Mang

Katrin Mang received her M.Sc. degree in Scientific Computing at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg with a Master thesis on a block preconditioner for aortic blood flow simulation. Since March 2018, she is working towards a PhD in the group of Prof. Thomas Wick at the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Leibniz Universität Hannover.

Her research interest is the development of numerical methods for a phase-field fracture model considering rubber-like materials, supported by the DFG SPP 1748 from 2018 until 2021. In 2020 she spent one month at Clemson University, South Carolina, to work with Prof. Timo Heister on parallel solvers. Further, Katrin is collaborating with Deutsches Institut für Kautschuktechnologie e.V. to compare experimental and numerical crack propagation in technical elastomers.
