Franziska Egli

Franziska S. Egli received her M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 2017. In her master thesis, which was supervised by Prof. Reese, she worked on the simulation of failure mechanisms of sandwich panels.

In 2018 she started her research towards a PhD under the supervision of Prof. Tim Ricken at the Institute of Statics and Dynamics of Aerospace Structures at the University of Stuttgart. Her research interests include the numerical simulation of complex materials and the investigation of biomechanical problems. She is currently working on the description of biological tissue, i.e., the development of a multiphasic model of hyaline articular cartilage. She is a member of the GAMM Activity Group “Computational Biomechanics“.
