Margarita Chasapi is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Mathematics, EPFL Lausanne working together with Prof. Annalisa Buffa at the interface between applied mathematics and computational mechanics. She is a civil engineer by training and obtained her PhD at RWTH Aachen University in 2020, where she worked in the context of interdisciplinary DFG research projects.

Her current research interests lie in the area of numerical modelling and simulation towards integration of geometric design and fast simulation technologies. In particular, her research focuses on isogeometric analysis, model order reduction and domain decomposition for problems in structural and solid mechanics.
