Philipp Schulze

Philipp Schulze received a bachelor’s degree in Energy and Process Engineering in 2012 and a master’s degree in Scientific Computing in 2014, both at TU Berlin. Since 2014 he is a PhD student in the group Numerical Mathematics of Prof. Dr. Volker Mehrmann at TU Berlin and, furthermore, he is a member of the Collaborative Research Center 1029 “Substantial efficiency increase in gas turbines through direct use of coupled unsteady combustion and flow dynamics”. The topic of his PhD thesis is the development of a new model order reduction framework which is especially suited for systems where advection plays a dominant role in comparison to diffusion. Further research focuses comprise energy-based modeling based on a port-Hamiltonian system formulation and data-driven reduced-order modeling.
