Céline Torres

Céline Torres studied mathematics at the University of Zurich and received her Master degree in 2016. After her master studies she joined the group of Prof. Stefan Sauter at the University of Zurich as a doctoral student. In 2020 she completed her PhD is currently employed at the University of Zurich as a post-doctoral researcher.

Céline’s research has been in Numerical Analysis of high frequency wave scattering problems. In her thesis she has been working on wave number and coefficient-explicit analysis of the, possibly heterogeneous, Helmholtz equation. This includes the understanding of localization effects caused by layered media and the design of an efficient and pollution-free approximation method for Helmholtz problems.
