Margarita Chasapi studied civil engineering at the Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where she graduated in 2011. After graduation, she worked as a project engineer for structural analysis projects in Germany. In 2016, she started working as a scientific assistant at the Chair of Structural Analysis and Dynamics at RWTH Aachen University to pursue her doctorate in the field of structural analysis. She worked in collaboration with the Differential-Algebraic Systems Group, TU Kaiserslautern within the joint DFG Project “Hybrid Galerkin-collocation methods for the surface-oriented modeling of nonlinear problems in solid mechanics”. In 2020, she completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Sven Klinkel and is currently a post-doctoral researcher.
Her research comprises isogeometric finite element methods for the modeling of nonlinear problems in solid mechanics as well as domain decomposition methods, particularly mortar methods in the context of isogeometric analysis.
